CCF Handbook, Section 3.9.5, B (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Food and Nutrition [SR] Comments: During the time of the inspection the Licensing Specialist observed 3 sippy cups and 1 bottle not labeled with the child's first and last name. This was corrected at the time of the inspection as the teacher in the classroom labeled the sippy cups and bottles with each child's first and last name. Per the DCF Handbook Bottles and sippy cups brought from home shall be individually labeled with the childs first and last name and shall be returned to the custodial parent or legal guardian daily. The play equipment was not maintained in a safe or sanitary condition for the children to use in that [the wood platform boards on the yellow jeep are broken and yellow metal frame has some rust around the frame located on the preschool playground. ]. Per the DCF Handbook All playground equipment must be securely anchored, unless portable or stationary by design, in good repair, maintained in safe and sanitary condition, and placed to ensure safe use by the children. Maintenance must include inspections conducted every month of all supports above and below the ground and of all connectors and moving parts. The facility did not have documentation to show completion of a Department approved five-hour early literacy and language development course for child care personnel within 12 months of date of employment in child care industry and/or the early literacy course documentation was not uploaded in the Florida Pathways/Registry. CCF Handbook, Section 4.2.2 and 4.5, C (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Comments: During the time of the inspection the Licesning Specialist monitored 1 staff file that did not complete the required 5 hour early literacy and language development training within the 12 months of working in the child care industry. Per the DCF Handbook Pursuant to Section 402.305(2)(e)5., F.S., all child care personnel must complete a single course of training in early literacy and language development of children ages birth through five years that is a minimum of five clock hours or .5 CEUs. Early literacy training must be completed within 12 months of date of employment in the child care industry. Proof of completion may be documented on a certificate of course completion, classroom transcript, or diploma. Child care personnel must complete one of the following: A. One of the Departments online literacy courses available on the Departments website. B. One of the Departments approved literacy courses. A list of these courses can be obtained from the Departments website. (No additional courses will be approved by the Department.) C.
