    An area(s) of the facility was observed to not be in good repair. CCF Handbook, Section 3.1, A (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Physical Environment [SR] Comments: During the time of the inspection the Licensing Specialist observed the 2 purple shelves in the Two year old Classroom have chipped paint throughout the shelves, the blue painted shelf in the Threes classroom has paint chipping, the gray and purple shelves in the school age classroom both have paint chipping around the sides and edges, the 3 carpets in the Two year old classroom are not in good condition and the outside childrens bathroom has no light working. The provider was given extra time for the repairs. Per the DCF Handbook All child care facilities must be clean, in good repair, free from health and safetyhazards and from evidence of, or presence of, vermin infestation. Indoor play areasmust be inspected daily for basic health and safety and documented on a dailyinspection log. Outdoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety.Any problems must be corrected before the play area is used by children.Documentation of the indoor play area inspection must be maintained for 12 months. 13.     Diaper changing occurred on a surface that was not impermeable. CCF Handbook, Section 3.10.2, E (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Sanitation and Equipment [SR] Comments: During the time of the inspection the Licensing Specialist observed that the white changing mat in the Toddler classroom had 3 rips in the covering on the mat. This was corrected at the time of the inspection as the Director replaced the white mat with a new mat for the changing table. Per the DCF Handbook When children in diapers are in care, there must be a diaper changing area with an impermeable surface that is cleaned and sanitized or disinfected after each use.
