CCF Handbook, Section 3.1, A (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Physical Environment [SR] Comments: During the time of the inspection the Licensing Specialist observed that the tan wall in the Ones class has paint peeling, 2 tan shelves in the Two year old classroom have chips in the wood around the shelves, 5 white shelves have paint peeling around the sides of all 5 shelves, and the cover outdoor play area has some materials stacked by the side door. Per the DCF Handbook All child care facilities must be clean, in good repair, free from health and safety hazards and from evidence of, or presence of, vermin infestation. Indoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety and documented on a daily inspection log. Outdoor play areas must be inspected daily for basic health and safety. Any problems must be corrected before the play area is used by children. Documentation of the indoor play area inspection must be maintained for 12 months. 13. CCF Handbook, Section 3.6.1, D (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Physical Environment [SR] Comments: During the time of the inspection the Licensing Specialist observed that 10 napping mats were not cover with impermeable surface as all 10 napping mats in the Preschool classroom had rips in the mats. This was corrected at the time of the inspection as the mats were discarded and replaced with other napping mats for the children to use. Per the DCF Handbook Floor mats must be at least one-inch thick and covered with an impermeable surface. 19.
