18. Bedding and Linens CCF Handbook, Section 3.6 (18-12)
Bedding and/or linens were not stored in a sanitary manner. CCF Handbook, Section 3.6.1, G & H Physical Environment [SR] Comments: During a facility walkthrough conducted by LS Skeen, it was observed that the provider failed to store bedding and/or linens in a sanitary manner across multiple classrooms. Specifically: In several areas of the facility, blankets were found stacked directly on top of each other without appropriate separation. • In Classroom B, a handbag was observed placed on top of stacked cots, which raises sanitary concerns. • In Classroom A, blankets stored between cots were in direct contact with the underside of the cot above, compromising sanitary storage practices. • In Classroom C, cots were stacked on top of each other with sheets still on them, which does not meet sanitary storage standards. • These conditions indicate a need for improved protocols to ensure bedding and linen are stored in a hygienic and compliant manner. Provider was able to send proof that linens were placed in individually labeled bags. Technical assistance was offered per CCF handbook " G. Bedding and linens, when not in use, must be stored in a sanitary manner which prevents the spread of germs or lice from other linens. All bedding and linens must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized at least once a week, and before use by another child. H. Bedding and linens shall not be stored in the bathroom, unless stored in cabinets. " 19. Nap/Sleep Space Requirements CCF Handbook, Section 3.6.2 Not Monitored 20. 35. Communicable Disease Control CCF Handbook, Section 6.1 (35-10)
The facility failed to report a suspected communicable disease outbreak for two or more children or adults within 72 hours to the local county health department and failed to follow directions given. CCF Handbook, Section 6.1.2, B Health Requirements [SR] Comments: During interview, it was disclosed that there was a minimum of at least 3 cases of hand, foot and mouth at the facility. It was then later confirmed with another government entity, that this outbreak was not reported by the facility to their department. Technical assistance was offered per CCF handbook "A suspected outbreak occurs when two or more children or child care personnel have the onset of similar signs or symptoms within a 72-hour period or when a case of a serious or reportable communicable disease is diagnosed or suspected in a child or employee. Some examples include shigella, salmonella, chicken pox, measles, pertussis, and hand, foot and mouth disease. Contact your local health department for a determination of whether reporting is required. " 36. CPR Requirements CCF Handbook, Section 4.2.4 Not Monitored 37.
