28. Training Requirements SACCF Handbook, Section 4 (28-01)

Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month did not complete the 40 hour Introductory Child Care Training requirement. SACCF Handbook Section 4.2.1 Comments: Non-Compliance Description: During the renewal inspection, two of ten staff had not completed the 40-hour introductory child care training Technical Assistance was provided to the provider by the CCF Handbook: Child care personnel must successfully complete 40 hours of child care training as evidenced by successful completion of competency examinations offered by the Department or its designated representative with a weighted score of 70 or better. Child care personnel who successfully completed the mandatory 40-hour Introductory Child Care Training prior to January 1, 2004 are not required to fulfill the competency examination requirement. A. Part I Courses (30 Hours) Child care personnel must complete all of the following: Child Care Facility Rules and Regulations Health, Safety and Nutrition Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect Child Growth and Development Behavioral Observation and Screening B. Part II Courses (10 Hours) Child care personnel must also complete 10 hours of the following Part II courses: Special Needs Appropriate Practices (10 hours), or Understanding Developmentally Appropriate Practices (5 hours) and one of the following courses: 1. The facility failed to maintain a current Employee/Contractor Roster for all child care personnel in the Clearinghouse. SACCF Handbook, Section 5.1, K Comments: Non-Compliance Description: Four out of seven child care personnel staff are not listed in the Employee/Contractor Roster for all child care personnel in the Clearinghouse. Technical assistance was provided to the provider by explaining the new policy. The center must update records within 5 days of any staff leaving or new hires. 29. Credentialed Staff SACCF Handbook, Section 4.7 (29-04)

The facility owner failed to notify the licensing authority within five working days of when the facility lost the credentialed director or when there was a change of director. SACCF Handbook, Section 4.7, D. 1 and 2 Comments: Non- Compliance Description: The director of the care facility is no longer in that position as of 09/04/2024, according to the childcare personnel. The facility did not make the change of director, and the facility owner failed to notify the licensing authority within five working days. Technical assistance was provided to the provider, explaining the necessary steps to add the new director to the files. Failure to do so will result in the license being put on provisional status. The facility did not have documentation to show child care personnel had begun the introductory training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry. SACCF Handbook, Section 4.1 Comments: Non- Compliance Description: One of the seven childcare staff members is missing their transcript and training records, which should show that they completed training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry. The facility failed to post the room capacity in each room. The facility is licensed to serve [38] children. A total of [64] children were counted at the center and/or were on a field trip. SACCF Handbook , Section 3.4.1, D Comments: Non-Compliance Description: The center has enrolled 100 children, exceeding the licensed capacity of 38. This is the second time this situation has occurred in 2024 Technical Assistance was provided to the provider and was not followed. During the routine inspection, 64 children were present. Technical assistance was provided to the provider by asking them to revise the license for a larger room or reduce the enrollment due to exceeding the allowed capacity of 38.
