CCF Handbook, Section 3.8.4, C Physical Environment [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialist reviewing the Fire Drill Log encountered that months of September, October, November, and December was not recorded in the fire drill log. T.A. The operator must maintain a written record of the fire drills showing the date, number of children and child care personnel in attendance, evacuation route used, and time taken for all individuals to evacuate the premises. Each fire drill record must be maintained for a minimum of 12 months from the date of the fire drill. The fire drills conducted must include, at a minimum: 1. One fire drill using an alternate evacuation route, 2. One fire drill during napping/sleeping times, and 3. One fire drill in the presence and at the request of the licensing authority. This drill will be coordinated with the operator or designee. The play equipment was not maintained in a safe or sanitary condition for the children to use in that [ equipment steps have rust and a sharp edge.]. CCF Handbook, Section 3.12, B and F Sanitation and Equipment [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialist observed one of the outdoor equipment with the cover protector broken, rust, and a sharp edge at the end of the steps. T.A. All playground equipment must be securely anchored, unless portable or stationary by design, in good repair, maintained in safe and sanitary condition, and placed to ensure safe use by the children. Maintenance must include inspections conducted every month of all supports above and below the ground and of all connectors and moving parts. Documentation of maintenance inspections must be maintained for 12 months. All equipment used in the outdoor play area must be constructed and maintained according to manufacturers recommendations and allow for water drainage.
