Background screening was not completed: [ after a 90-day break in service.] CCF Handbook, Section 5.2 (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Record Keeping [SR] Comments: Provider hired person listed on supplemental page that had a 90-day break in service. This was resolved when provider did a resubmission while licensing was there. Provider is going to call licensing if she has questions on background screening requirements. 5.2 Re-Screening A screening conducted under this rule is valid for five years, at which time a re-screen must be conducted in the same manner as the initial screening. Child Care Facility Handbook Page | 53 C. Child care personnel must be re-screened following a break in employment in the child care industry that exceeds 90 days. Child care personnel/individual with a break in service that exceeds 90 days are considered unscreened child care personnel/individuals until completion of re-screening. These child care personnel/individuals shall not have unsupervised contact with children in care. D. Child Care personnel, who were not in compliance with training requirements when they left the industry, did not complete required training and any new mandated training before returning to the industry. CCF Handbook, Section 4.3, B Training [SR] Comments: The staff member listed on the supplemental did not completed in her DCF exams before she left the industry and came back to the industry without completing the exams. Technical Assistance given from the handbook: Section 4.3 B. In the event an individual leaves the child care industry not in compliance with the training requirements and returns to the industry either at the same or a different child care facility, he or she must comply with the training requirements described in this section, as well as any new training requirements that may have been added during the gap in employment in the child care industry prior to re- employment Provider had licensing talk to the teacher to explain to the teacher because the Owner/Director didn't understand. Spoke with the teacher who understood what she needed to do and the time frame she has to do it in.
