   03. Ratio Sufficient CCF Handbook, Section 2.3 (03-01)

   A ratio of [2] child care personnel for [4] children is required. A ratio of [1] child care personnel for [4] children was observed. s.402.305(4), F.S. General Requirements [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialist observed the following ratios: Infants: 4 children to 1 staff Ones: 6 children to 1 staff Twos: 11 children to 1 staff Threes: 11 children to 1 staff Fours: 8 children to 1 staff Additional staff present The infant room is licensed for 12 infants. The infant room is divided by a half wall that is connected by a gate to allow children to play on either side. Licensing Specialist observed two infants on one side of the half wall and gate playing in the ball pit area. Licensing Specialist observed one infant teacher on the other side of the gate with two infants. One infant was sleeping in a bouncier seat, and the other infant was asleep in the crib. There was no teacher inside the gate with the other two infants. Technical assistance provided from the CCF Handbook: 2.4 Supervision B. Child care personnel must be assigned to provide direct supervision to a specific group of children and be with that group of children at all times. Children must never be left without child care personnel supervision inside or outside the facility, in a vehicle, or at a field trip location. Corrective Action: Director relocated the infants to one side of the infant room to allow for proper supervision.    04. Supervision CCF Handbook, Section 2.4 (04-15)

   Children did not receive supervision as required by their age or required needs while toileting or bathing. CCF Handbook, Section 2.4.1, H General Requirements [SR] Comments: Licensing Specialist observed a two-year-old child in the restroom alone during potty time. Licensing Specialist observed two teachers gathered together with the class while child was using the restroom. Technical assistance provided from the CCF Handbook: 2.4 Supervision 2.4.1 General Supervision Requirements H. Children must receive supervision and care in accordance with their age and required needs and be accounted for at all times while bathing or toileting. Corrective Action: Director had staff member assist the child in the restroom and provided verbal training of restroom requirements. when staff assisted the child, this brought this standard into compliance during inspection. Compliance Comments Technical Assistance Regarding Transportation and Vehicle Requirements for Child Care Facilities Prior to transporting children, the facility must be approved by the Department to offer transportation services. Transportation services will be approved if the conditions set forth in parts 2.5.1, 2.5.4., 2.5.5., and 4.2.6., of the Child Care Facility Handbook are met. Pursuant to 402.305(10)4(b), Florida Statutes, child care facilities are required to install an alarm system in each vehicle used by the facility or home to transport children by January 9, 2022. Alongside the alarm requirements, child care providers are required to continue conducting physical and visual sweeps of the vehicle and maintaining a log.
