    04. Supervision CCF Handbook, Section 2.4 (04-01)

Supervision of children in the [2 y/o] group was inadequate in that [a child walked out of the classroom and through two more security doors that were not completely closed and went outside unsupervised]. CCF Handbook, Section 2.4 Comments: The child was brought back inside by another parent arriving to pick their child up. Several things have been done to prevent this from occurring in the future: all CCP (child care personnel) have received additional training on supervision of children at ALL times; signs were placed by the doors reminding parents to keep the doors closed for the safety of their child; and the maintenance department tightened the spring on the hallway half door so it closes all the way. Technical support was provided. 2.4 Supervision 2.4.1 General Supervision Requirements B. Child care personnel must be assigned to provide direct supervision to a specific group of children and be with that group of children at all times. Children must never be left without child care personnel supervision inside or outside the facility, in a vehicle, or at a field trip location. 05.
