746.1201(1) - Responsibilities of Employees and Caregivers -Demonstrate Competency, Good Judgment, Self-control

This standard was evaluated as part of an investigation and determined to be deficient. A caregiver did not demonstrate competency when operational policies were not followed, resulting in an infant being fed the wrong bottle and consuming breast milk intended for another infant.

746.1205(a)(4) - Supervision ensures each child?s safety, well-being, including physical proximity and auditory or visual awareness of each child?s on going activity

A caregiver did not keep visual and/or auditory awareness of a child in care. The child was able to leave without caregiver knowledge. The child was found in the parking lot by another parent. This was a self-report.

Based on the information gathered during the investigation, it has been determined that child was left unattended, and caregiver was not at a physical proximity which did not allow visual and/or auditory awareness of the child in care.
