746.1205(a)(2) - Responsibilities of Caregivers - Know number of children responsible for

A caregiver stated they were unaware of how many children they were responsible for. This was corrected during the inspection when I counted the children and informed the caregiver that they had ten children in their class.

746.2421(b) - Written Feeding Instructions - Review and Update Every 30 Days

One infant's feeding instructions were last updated in July.

746.1205(a)(4) - Supervision ensures each child?s safety, well-being, including physical proximity and auditory or visual awareness of each child?s on going activity

During the investigation, there was sufficient evidence found to determine that two children left their class, got outside the daycare, and were outside unsupervised for approximately six minutes.

746.1203(3)(D) - Personal use of electronic devices, such as cell phones, MP3 players, tablets, and video games

During the DFPS investigation, there was sufficient evidence to determine that a caregiver was using a cell phone while supervising children.

746.2805(3) - Prohibited Punishments - Grabbing and Pulling

During the DFPS investigation, there was sufficient evidence to determine that a caregiver roughly grabbed a child out of her chair and pulled her away from the table.

746.2805(2) - Prohibited Punishments - Associated with Food, Naps, or Toilet Training

During the DFPS investigation, there was sufficient evidence to determine that a caregiver disciplined two children by not letting them finish eating their meal after one of the children spilled a cup of milk.

746.1201(1) - Responsibilities of Employees and Caregivers -Demonstrate Competency, Good Judgment, Self-control

During the DFPS investigation, there was sufficient evidence to determine that a caregiver did not demonstrate good judgment when she reached into a bowl of food intended for children, ate some, and then served the children from the same bowl.

746.1201(2) - Responsibilities of Employees and Caregivers -Relate to Children

During the DFPS investigation, there was sufficient evidence to determine that a caregiver did not relate to children with respect and patience when the caregiver snatched a child's cup of milk away and spoke to the children in an impatient, disrespectful tone.

746.3809 - Medication No Longer Used

There was expired medication and medication that children were no longer using stored in the office. This was corrected during the inspection when the medication was disposed of.

746.5101(a) - Annual Fire Inspection - Before Initial Permit Issued and Every 12 Months

The operation's last annual fire inspection was done on 10/3/23.
