On 02/19/2026, Licensing Specialist observed three children in the three-year-old classroom with weighted backpacks on. The backpacks were filled with wooden blocks ranging from 2.97 pounds and 3.37 pounds. Classroom staff and director reported the backpacks were used with the children who had excess energy. Staff indicated that the children were expected to wear the backpack all day, with the exception of naps and meals. Staff further stated that if the child removed the backpack and displayed any behavioral concerns, the child was required to put the backpack back on.
