1240-04-01-.15 Program Language and Literacy Development
While reviewing the video from an incident that occurred in the Grasshoppers classroom on 2/27/2025 at approximately 12:05, the Licensing Consultant observed that the educator redirected a child (3 year-old-male) by grabbing his right shoulder/upper arm and pushing him toward his mat. — Visit: Complaint Investigation,Technical Assistance — Action taken: Before this visit was conducted the teacher was placed on supervision. She will not be left alone with children until the investigation is completed. Furthermore a formal write up will be placed in her file and she will have a 2 day suspension without pay. The teacher will take part in discipline training through CCR&R. We were hoping to have all staff take a course on behavior management and or discipline through TCCOTS, however there are no trainings available. So instead we will be reaching out to CCR&R to see if we could have a training for our entire staff. We will have a staff meeting, using the video of this situation and will ask how could or should this situation have been handled in a more positive way.
