On March 13, 2025, LC Hobbs visited Agency to investigate an incident reported by the director on the same day it occurred. The incident happened on March 6, when a parent picked up their child from the playground and did not fully latch the gate. A child was able to push the gate open and walked down the sidewalk toward the edge of the parking lot. Another parent spotted the child and quickly ran to retrieve him, alerting his teacher, who also rushed to reach the child. The child was outside the playground for approximately 30 seconds. — Visit: Incident or Injury Investigation,Technical Assistance — Action taken: Staff were retrained on playground zones and supervision. The gate has been adjusted so it is harder for children to open it. A sign has been ordered for the gate that says please make sure to latch.
