    0520-12-01-.10 HEALTH AND SAFETY. (12) Program staff shall make every reasonable attempt to notify parents or guardians immediately when a child sustains serious injury/injuries, including but not limited to, massive bleeding, broken bones, head injuries, possible internal injury, etc., to arrange for emergency treatment. OBSERVATION: During an extended investigation that stemmed from a complaint, the incident where a child received a concussion due to an accident at the school. The staff lookover the child and saw no visual evidence of head trauma. Yet, after interviewing several staff, some said they were told to keep an eye on the child in case she displays any signs of a concussion. The parent was indeed notified by the end of the day. She took the child to the hospital. The child was indeed, diagnosed with a concussion. The Department of Education teamed up the Department of Children's Services to complete the investigation. To show the school is proactive, the department is requesting additional head trauma training be completed by all staff members by February 1, 2025. — Visit: Complaint Investigation — Action taken: Training is set up for each teachers to get addiitonal head trauma training. Email was sent to verifiy plan.
