1240-04-01-.15 Program Language and Literacy Development

During lunch in the Toddler Two classroom an educator told a child if you do not sit down you will not get any food. Later, the educator told a child if you take your bib off your will not get any food. — Visit: QRIS Monitoring visit,Technical Assistance — Action taken: The educators have been retrained on appropriate redirection of children by Kinder Care management. In addition, Child Care Resource and Referral Infant/Toddler coach will be on-site on September 30, 2025 to provide additional coaching.

In the Toddler Two Classroom there was a meal-time supervision lapse due to the educators not being able to see all the children's face during lunch. — Visit: QRIS Monitoring visit,Technical Assistance — Action taken: The educators have been retrained on meal-time supervision. Child Care Resource and Referral coach will be conducting an on-site visit on 9/30/2025 to provide additional guidance. LC Fox conducted a follow-up visit and observed meal-time; the educators were seated to see all the children and were supervising the children. The educators had made some adjustments in the seating arrangements for the children, so children who needed additional assistance where seated next to the educators.

Incorrect adult:child ratio was found in the Infant room. — Visit: Technical Assistance,Follow-up visit,Complaint Investigation,Safety Plan Monitoring,Other — Action taken: The agency director immediately took steps to correct the violation. She then reviewed the ratio/grouping requirements for each age group. If children are transitioning to the next classroom and visiting for short times throughout the day, the director will ensure the ages of the children in the classroom meet the requirements for adult to child ratio.

On July 7, 2025 the program director self-reported that an educator used inappropriate behavior management techniques with a two-year-old chiid. — Visit: Technical Assistance,Complaint Investigation,Safety Plan Served — Action taken: The educator was terminated and all educators received training on positive behavior management techniques and guidance.
