    1240-04-01-.15 Program Language and Literacy Development

    During an unannounced visit to investiage an incident, after interviews with educators it was determined that inappropriate disciple techiques were used to correct a child's behavior. — Visit: Incident or Injury Investigation — Action taken: There will be on going monitoring and support to ensure classroom management, positive redirection and conscious discipline is implemented throughout the day. In addition, Richland's Management team, Metro Action Commission Early Education Manager, Compliance Coordinator, and Administrative Personnel will continue ongoing monitoring to ensure compliance. The staff will be retrained on the DHS Rules and Regulations: 1240-04-01-.15 Program Language and Literacy Development: (5) Behavior Management and Guidance. (a) Behavioral interventions shall be developmentally appropriate, with consideration given to the attention spans and skills of individual children. (h) The educator shall address each incident of unacceptable behavior by using methods of positive guidance and discipline to help the child manage his/her behavior
