The educator changed a child's diaper, but did not wash the child's hands when they finished. — Visit: QRIS Monitoring visit,Technical Assistance — Action taken: The educator was terminated for putting children at risk by not following proper diapering and handwashing procedures. The agency will conduct a staff meeting to review the proper diapering procedures. The administration will also observe educators as they change diapers to ensure the proper procedures are followed. A coaching referral has been sent to CCR&R to request coaching on diapering and handwashing procedures.

In the event that they have another potential employee with an out-of-state background check, they will thoroughly check all required paperwork to ensure it is completed in its entirety and signed before submitting it. They will also ensure they have a clearance letter or supervision letter before allowing the new hire to start.
