Upon investigation, it was confirmed that Staff Person #1 had used physical force directed upon Child #1 in such a manner as to cause the child to fall onto their backside [no injury found]. Staff Person #1 was immediately terminated from employment as a result of this incident. Requirement: A facility person may not use any form of physical punishment, including spanking a child. Correction: WCC Management immediately investigated the incident, then immediately terminated employment of Staff Person #1. Management immediately self-reported the incident to their DHS representative. Staff will not use physical discipline/force on children. Inspection: Self-Reported Non Compliance. Requirement: Daily activities shall promote the development of skills, social competence and self-esteem. Daily experiences shall recognize the child as an individual and give some choice of activities that respect personal privacy, lifestyle and cultural background. Upon inspection of the required documents posted on site, it was found that the Certificate of Compliance in evidence was an expired copy. The facility took immediate steps to locate the current copy and placed it in a conspicuous location during the inspection. Requirement: The facility's current certificate of compliance shall be posted in a conspicuous location used by parents. The operator shall provide the parent of each child enrolled with information on how to access the regulations in this chapter electronically and with instructions for contacting the appropriate regional child care office. The facility's fire drill log included drill dates on 5.1.24 and again on 7.8.24 which calculated as 68 days between drills. The facility's fire drill log also included drill dates on 9.3.24 and again on 11.4.2024 which calculated as 62 days between drills. It was observed that the facility tested smoke detectors on 12/01/24 and then again on 1/04/25, which is greater than the allowable 30 days between testing. (34 days lapsed) Requirement: The Director or designated staff person who is responsible for compliance with this chapter shall conduct fire drills and ensure that fire drills are conducted at least once every 60 days.
