Requirement: Hot water pipes and other sources of heat exceeding 110° F that are accessible to children shall be equipped with protective guards or shall be insulated to prevent direct contact. Correction: A knob was accidentally turned on which turned on the heat event. It was turned off and the heat vent then measured less than 110° F. Inspection: Renewal.     At the time of the inspection, in the toddler room, the receptacle used to contain the water used for washing was full and staff person #1 acknowledged that it is only emptied every 2 days and not daily, as required. Requirement: A source of running water for handwashing shall be present in infant and toddler diapering areas. If the running water does not flow directly into a drain that is connected to a sewage system, a receptacle shall be provided to contain the water used for washing. The receptacle shall be emptied into an approved sewage system at least once a day. Correction: Water in the receptacle was emptied. Inspection: Renewal.     During the initial inspection, two water pipes were observed on the Preschool playground. They had covers which were not secured and easily removed, which then exposed a 7-inch opening. They stuck upwards from the ground and also posed a tripping hazard. Requirement: If unsafe areas or conditions are in or near an outdoor play space, fencing or natural barriers are required to restrict children from those unsafe areas or conditions.
