Annual emergency drills shall be documented and on file at the facility. Correction: With an inspection it was found that I conduct my emergency drill more than 1 year apart. Requirement: The operator shall review the emergency plan at least annually and update the plan as needed. Each review and update of the emergency plan shall be documented in writing and kept on file at the facility. Correction: With an inspection it was found that I review my emergency plan more than 1 year apart. Next year the owner will develop the Emergency Plan within a year of the previous one. Emergency drills were documented on a form created by the operator that did not include the following required information: TIME TO COMPLETE THE DRILL; THE NAMES OF FACILITY PERSONS AND ANY OTHER ADULTS THAT PARTICIPATED IN THE DRILL; SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS THE FACILITY USED FOR ANY CATEGORY OF CHILDREN (Infants, Toddlers, Children with Special Needs); TOTAL NUMBER OF CHILDREN PARTICIPATING IN THE DRILL; TOTAL NUMBER OF ADULTS AND CHILDREN PARTICIPATING IN THE DRILL; and PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED OR OBSERVATIONS DURING THE DRILL (For use in updating the Emergency Plan). Requirement: A facility shall be operated in conformity with applicable Federal and State laws and regulations. State agencies whose regulations may relate to the operation of a facility include the Department of Environmental Resources, the Department of Labor and Industry, the Department of Health, the Department of Education and the Department of Transportation. Conditions at the facility may not pose a threat to the health or safety of the children. The primary staff person or designated staff person who is responsible for compliance with this chapter shall ensure the requirements in subsection (a) are met. Correction: During my inspection it was noted that fire detection system was not tested at least once every 30 days during the time period between 5/30 to 6/30/2024. An annual emergency drill was conducted and is documented and on file at the facility. The Emergency drill from 2023 was found and a late entry was also put on the Emergency Drill log. Toxic plants not permitted (3280.66(c))

A ZZ plant and a Draceana plant, identified as toxic to humans, were observed in the main room. Requirement: Toxic plants are not permitted in a child care space. Correction: During an inspection A ZZ plant and a Draceana plant, identified as toxic to humans, were observed in the main room. These plants were removed from the daycare. Inspection: Renewal. State agencies whose regulations may relate to the operation of a facility include the Department of Environmental Resources, the Department of Labor and Industry, the Department of Health, the Department of Education and the Department of Transportation. Conditions at the facility may not pose a threat to the health or safety of the children. Correction: During my inspection my policy and procedure to identify the prevention of shaken baby syndrome, abusive head trauma, and child maltreatment did not include the prevention and identification of child maltreatment, required I updated my policy to include the prevention and identification of child maltreatment and added it to my parent handbook.
