FIRE DETECTION/Staff responsibility (3280.95(a)/3280.95(b))

The inspector observed the fire drill/detection log and found that the 30-day testing was not being conducted. This was evidenced by a test completed on 7/11/25 and then not again until 8/22/25 and then on 9/17/25, and then on 10/30/25. Requirement: Fire detection devices or systems must be in compliance with standards established under section 1016(c) of the act (62 P.S. § 1016(c)). The primary staff person or designated staff person who is responsible for compliance with this chapter shall ensure the requirements in subsection (a) are met Correction: The provider was utilizing a business calendar and not a 30-day calendar. The inspector observed that the notice to local traffic safety authority was dated 1/3/24 and a new one had not been sent for 2025. Requirement: The operator shall notify local traffic safety authorities in writing of the location of the facility and about the program's use of pedestrian and vehicular routes around the group child care facility. Correction: Provider was unaware that this document had to be sent annually. The provider will send another letter by 11/7/25. Inspection: Renewal. Each child emergency contact person (3280.124(a))

During the renewal inspection on 11/12/24 the inspector observed that child files #1, #3, and #4 were all missing the required emergency contact information. Requirement: Emergency contact information is required for each enrolled child. Emergency contact information shall reference who shall be contacted in an emergency. During the renewal inspection on 11/12/24 the inspector observed that the file for child file #2 and found that the emergency contact form was missing the required home and work addresses and telephone numbers of the enrolling parent. Requirement: Emergency contact information must include the home and work addresses and telephone numbers of the enrolling parent.
