Handwashing signs (3270.82(h))

On May 28, 2026, during the renewal inspection there were no handwashing signs with the written requirements, (a facility person and an able child shall wash his hands after toileting and before eating) over the sink and over the changing table in classroom #1. Requirement: A facility person and an able child shall wash his hands after toileting and before eating. A sign on which this requirement is written shall be posted at each toilet, training chair, diapering area and sink in the facility. No business simultaneous use (3270.61(f))

On May 28, 2026, during the renewal inspection, classroom #7 was not being utilized as childcare space. The space was being utilized as a staff lounge. Requirement: Indoor space in which children are receiving care may not be used simultaneously for other business, commercial, social or another purpose unrelated to the child care being offered. General Health and Safety (3270.21)

On 5/20/25, at time of inspection, an infant was observed being fed while sitting in a highchair. The infant was not strapped/buckled in the highchair in order to ensure the safety of the infant. Requirement: Conditions at the facility may not pose a threat to the health or safety of the children. Correction: All infants will be strapped into highchairs correctly. Inspection: Renewal. Physician/CRNP assessment (3270.151(c)(5))

On 5/20/25, at time of inspection, Staff #2 health assessment did not include the physician's assessment of their suitability to provide childcare. Requirement: An adult health assessment must include the physician's or CRNP's assessment of the person's suitability to provide child care. Supervised at all times (3270.113(a))

On 5/20/25, at time of inspection, three infants were observed in cribs positioned behind a separating wall in the middle of room. Staff #1 and Staff #3 were observed on the other side of the wall, preventing them from properly supervising the sleeping infants. Requirement: Children must be supervised at all times. Correction: We will have a teacher stay with infants who are sleeping or we will move the crib to the active side where staff are. Inspection: Renewal. Stairs, exits, etc. unobstructed (3270.91(a))

On 5/20/25, at time of inspection, an art easel was observed obstructing the exit door located in the PK classroom. Highchairs were observed blocking the exit door located in the infant room. Table and chairs were observed obstructing the exit door located in the older toddler room during rest time. Requirement: Stairways, hallways, exits from rooms, exits from the facility and other means of egress serving as an exit shall be unobstructed. Toilet and sinks proper height (3270.82(e))

On 5/20/25, at time of inspection, a sink located in the young toddler room did not contain a stepstool/platform to enable children to easily access the sink. Requirement: Toilets and sinks shall be at proper heights for children using them or shall be easily approached by means of platforms or steps. Correction: Step stool was placed at toddler sink. Building Surfaces/No peeling paint or plaster (3270.76/3270.77(a))

On 5/20/25, at time of inspection, rust and peeling paint was observed on the bottom of the door frame located on the PS outdoor play space. Additionally, damaged plaster and peeling paint was observed on the wall located in the empty classroom. Requirement: Floors, walls, ceilings and other surfaces, including the facility's outdoor play space surfaces shall be kept clean, in good repair and free from visible hazards. Peeled or damaged paint or damaged plaster is not permitted on indoor or outdoor surfaces in the child care facility. Correction: The door was sanded down and painted. Chipped paint has been fixed. Locked or inaccessible (3270.66(a))

On 5/20/25, at time of inspection, diaper cream was observed accessible to children in an unlocked cabinet under the diapering station and under an unlocked cabinet under the sink in the infant room. Requirement: Cleaning materials and other toxic materials shall be kept in an area or container that is locked or made inaccessible to children. On 5/20/25, at time of inspection, Staff #1 file did not contain a complete PA Criminal Clearance as required by CPSL. Requirement: The operator shall comply with the CPSL and with Chapter 3490 (relating to protective services).
