During a renewal inspection conducted on 5/21/26, Staff person # 1 was working in the infant room with 3 infants asleep in the cribs. The 3 cribs did not have 2 feet of space on the three sides. Requirement: At least 2 feet of space is required on three sides of a bed, cot, crib or other rest equipment while the equipment is in use. Correction: Crib positioning was corrected. Clean, age appropriate (3270.106(a))

This was a complaint investigation into the child being allowed to sleep in a Boppy pillow instead of the age-appropriate rest equipment. The staff person verified that the child fell asleep on the pillow and was not moved to the crib. Requirement: Individual, clean, age-appropriate rest equipment shall be provided for preschool, toddler and infant children as agreed between the child's parent and the operator. The rest equipment shall be labeled for the use of a specific child and used only by the specified child. Correction: At the time of the complaint, safe sleep practices were reviewed with infant staff. The supervising infant teacher completed additional training, " safe sleep - sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS)" on 2/17/2026. Inspection: Complaints- Legal Location. Infant sleep position (3270.119)

During the complaint investigation , the staff person admitted that the child was placed on his stomach while in the crib. This sleep position is not recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Requirement: Infants shall be placed in the sleeping position recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics unless there is a medical reason an infant should not sleep in this position. The medical reason shall be documented in a statement signed by a physician, physician's assistant or CRNP and placed in the child's record at the facility. Correction: At the time of the complaint, safe sleep practices were reviewed with infant staff. During a renewal inspection conducted on 5/12/2025, Certification Representative observed that the Little Lambs classroom was in the outdoor play space without the emergency contact information being present. Requirement: When children are in the facility, emergency contact information shall be present in a child care space for children receiving care in the space. Correction: A new copy of the emergency contact information for the Little Lambs classroom was provided to the teacher and placed in the attendance book. Teachers are expected to carry the attendance book, including emergency contact information for the children in their care with them throughout the building. Additionally, a second copy of emergency contact information for children enrolled in the entire school was placed inside the first aid kit on the playground, allowing teachers to access the information in the event that they forget to bring the attendance book. During a renewal inspection conducted on 5/15/2025, Certification Representative observed that the pick up and drop off procedures were not posted. Requirement: Written notification of safe routes shall be posted by the operator at a conspicuous location in the child care facility. Correction: Safety evacuation routes were posted in the front entrance near the posted emergency procedures for staff and families to view during pick up and drop off times. Inspection: Renewal. Availability of certificate of compliance and applicable regulations (3270.25(a))

During a renewal inspection conducted on 5/12/2025, Certification Representative observed that the facility did not post the following for parents to access: electronically access to the regulations and the instructions on how to contact OCDEL. Requirement: The facility's current certificate of compliance shall be posted in a conspicuous location used by parents. The operator shall provide the parent of each child enrolled with information on how to access the regulations in this chapter electronically and with instructions for contacting the appropriate regional child care office. Correction: Information with a web address and QR code to access the regulations in the chapter electronically was posted for parents in the main entrance of the facility, next to the parent sign-in book. The posting also contains instructions to contact our OCDEL Regional office, including address, telephone number, and fax number. Inspection: Renewal.
