340:110-3-296(e)(2) — Covered heads and faces. Children's heads and faces are not covered while resting. When a child continues to cover their head or face, the cover is removed once the child falls asleep.

1. Rest time: Teachers cover children's heads up to their ears with a blanket during naptime Complaint finding: Substantiated (complaint #18639). Plan to correct: From this isolated and rare circumstance, the Director has visited with all staff about blanket placement. It was made clear that holding the blanket over the ear is not within compliance and even for comfort or noise cancellation purposes the blanket should not be above shoulder level. Staff Safe Sleep Training scheduling in currently in progress. Safe Sleep requirements have already been met for licensing purposes.
