(Serious) Inappropriate discipline: Staff used inappropriate discipline on children. Complaint finding: Substantiated (complaint #18046). Plan to correct: Typed for Director: All new hire teachers and staff working with children will complete the Rest Time Procedures/Protocol at Orientation. The Rest Time Procedure/Protocol will also be included at staff meetings periodically. All teachers and staff will sign and date a document stating they understand and will comply. No child will ever be restrained by a teacher, staff member, or other, working with children at the Jenks Early Childcare Center. The program will ensure that all staff follow age appropriate behavior and guidance. The program will implement training on inappropriate discipline when the new staff is hired during orientation and again at the 60 day probationary period, and when any concern arise. The program will also provide this training at the August professional development day for all staff. The program will ensure that all staff will follow the programs behavior and guidance policy which is: redirection, conscious discipline, and never grabbing or restraining a child in any way. The program will also hold a staff meeting to go over the Rest Time Procedures/Protocol and the behavior and guidance policy with all staff by 10/25/24.
