Evidence of violation: During the annual visit the Tiger room had 6 children all between the ages of 18 months and up to 3 years of age. There was only one staff member. For this age group you may only have 5 children with one staff member, since they are all the same age. Method of correction: Make sure that the children's ratio and staff ratios are considered when all children are the same age. Have staff know the ratio's so they can help in keeping rooms in compliance with rules and regulations concerning ratios. Fiscal sanction if not corrected: $25.00 per day. Evidence of violation: On October 31, a child fell off the diaper changing station and hit her head. The teacher did not notify the parents or directors until the next day and stated that the staff caught the child before landing. After watching the video on November 4th, it was determined that statement from the staff member was false. Staff was immediately terminated. Method of correction: Do onsite training on diaper changing. Move diaper changing mat to floor with a non porous pad. Recommend reaching out to Child Care Aware and arrange the health consultant to do a training on sanitation, diaper changing and other safety topics. Fiscal sanction if not corrected: $15.00 per day.
