Bleach and water bottles were empty at the program on the day of the visit. Equipment could not be properly disinfected as required. Corrective action: Was given instruction that disinfection both a soap/water and bleach/water solutions needed to be used. So a bleach/water solution will be made each day before students arrive in the afternoon. Then disinfecting will take place before students arrive and after students are dismissed.. Regulation: The licensee must ensure that educators and children wash their hands with liquid soap and running water, using friction, in accordance with DPH guidelines. Hands must be dried with individual or disposable towels or automatic hand blow-dryers. The use of common towels is prohibited. Two cans of Lysol disinfectant aerosol spray were accessible to children on the day of the visit. Corrective action: The two cans of Lysol disinfectant were moved and placed in an inaccessible area for children. Regulation: The outdoor play area must be free from hazards including but not limited to: a busy street, a parking lot, poisonous plants, water hazards, debris, broken glass, chipping, peeling or flaking paint, dangerous machinery or tools, and weather-related and environmental hazards or small objects that could present a choking hazard to young children. Any such hazard must be removed or fenced by a sturdy, permanently installed barrier which is at least four feet high or otherwise protected or removed, as appropriate., Educators must ensure that all hazardous objects, including but not limited to matches, lighters, toxic materials, sharp objects, plastic bags and purses are locked or inaccessible to children. The fire inspection is expired. Corrective action: Fire inspection will be up to date and completed by week of 2/2/26. Regulation: Building Inspection. Every program that is not located in a residence and every program that has a licensed capacity of more than 10 children must provide a certificate of inspection from the Department of Public Safety or the local building inspector certifying that the facility complies with the State Building Code (780 CMR). It was observed that the program serves chips, cookies, and other unhealthy snacks to children for PM snack. Corrective action: Oreos and pringles that were purchased for a special occasion (Halloween) are not served for PM snack any more. Fruits and fruit snacks have been served regularly but we will discuss how to add vegetables and cheese to our snacks.. It was observed that the emergency medications, including asthma inhalers were stored in a locked file cabinet and not readily available. Corrective action: Asthma inhalers are separated from the medicine that required to be locked. (The other medicine was relocated.).
