The ceiling in one of the front rooms is damaged due to a roof leak. Corrective action: Classroom repairs will be complete by March 8th. At this time, the classroom is not being in use until repairs are completed. Repairs are being done on non-operational hours.. Several potential hazards were observed and accessible to children, including a large construction machine, loose cables, a large piece of concrete on the ground, an exposed pipe on the ground, and an exposed pipe on the wall." Corrective action: Our construction team will be removing their equipment. Loose cables were removed by the property owner next door. Concrete will be removed by the construction team. Pipe exposed to the ground and exposure on the wall will be covered with dirt. Also, we will be adding a wooden fence to block the area.. Regulation: The outdoor play area must be free from hazards including but not limited to: a busy street, a parking lot, poisonous plants, water hazards, debris, broken glass, chipping, peeling or flaking paint, dangerous machinery or tools, and weather-related and environmental hazards or small objects that could present a choking hazard to young children. The program was missing emergency medication for multiple children. Corrective action: All missing emergency medications were provided by the parent. It has been labeled with each child’s name and date of birth.. The program was missing emergency medication for multiple children, and some medications were expired. Corrective action: All missing medications have been given by parent labeled with each child’s name and date of birth. All medications are up to date. Expired medications were returned back to the parent.. Regulation: All prescription medications must be in the containers in which they were originally dispensed and with their original labels affixed. The program staff did not follow proper infection control and handwashing procedures by failing to wash their hands after performing cleaning tasks and cleaning up after snack time. Corrective action: We had a training on how to follow proper handwashing procedures before and after the following; performing any cleaning tasks, snack time.. Regulation: The licensee must ensure that educators and children wash their hands with liquid soap and running water, using friction, in accordance with DPH guidelines. 1- The program did not maintain, as part of a child’s record, an individual health care plan for each child with a chronic medical condition that has been diagnosed by a licensed health care practitioner. 2- The allergies and medications list did not include the names of all the children with allergies and medications. 3-The program did not have written parental medication administration consent for all children who require medication Corrective action: We have updated each child individual heath care plan. All allergies are listed with medications list. All parents have signed the medical consent form that required any medication.. Regulation: Individual Health Care Plans The licensee must maintain as part of a child’s record, an individual health care plan for each child with a chronic medical condition, which has been diagnosed by a licensed health care practitioner.
