While observing the area that stores extra supplies and the children's bathrooms, there was a hot plate for a water craft. The Site Coordinator reported they use the hot water to prepare children's lunches brought from home. The licensor suggested the program remove the hot plate and water craft to ensure it does not tip onto a child passing by and they get burnt. It was also suggested they do not use it to prepare children's food to avoid giving children food that is too hot and the child burns their mouth. Corrective action: The director had a meeting with all site coordinators regarding the use and storage of the hot pot/craft and how it can be a burn hazard to the children. They were advised to NEVER use it to heat up children's food because we can't monitor how hot it gets which poses a risk of the children getting burned. Moving forward the staff have and will keep the hot pot stored in a secured cabinet. If it needs to be used a staff is required to be present at all times to monitor it.. Regulation: The outdoor play area must be free from hazards including but not limited to: a busy street, a parking lot, poisonous plants, water hazards, debris, broken glass, chipping, peeling or flaking paint, dangerous machinery or tools, and weather-related and environmental hazards or small objects that could present a choking hazard to young children. Any such hazard must be removed or fenced by a sturdy, permanently installed barrier which is at least four feet high or otherwise protected or removed, as appropriate., Educators must ensure that all hazardous objects, including but not limited to matches, lighters, toxic materials, sharp objects, plastic bags and purses are locked or inaccessible to children. All staff reported evacuation drills are not completed monthly. Corrective action: The program did miss the August fire drill/evacuation. The director had a meeting with all site coordinators and staff about the importance of fore drills/evacuations and the plan on how and when they shou/will be done. Moving forward the director will set monthly dates for the fire drills/evacuations. They will be monitored and loged into the licensing binder by the director which is located in the office. On 9/17/25 they completed the fire drill/evacuation.. Regulation: The licensee must ensure that the physical facilities are safe, clean, in good repair and free from hazards and clutter. The licensee must monitor the environment daily to identify and remove or repair any hazards that may cause injury to children. Exits and evacuation routes must be kept clear of obstructions., The educator must hold practice evacuation drills with all groups of children and all educators from each floor level of the approved space at least monthly. Drills must be held during different times of the program day, and must use alternative exits. The educator must document the date, time, exit route used, number of children evacuated and effectiveness of each drill. Cited during: Enhanced Monitoring Visit.
