7.07(07), 7.07(10) — Physical Space (Indoor & Outdoor)

Licensor inspected all of the indoor, licensed space, as well as the outdoor playspace (fenced in front yard). No hazards were observed in any of the indoor space. However, outside in the mulched area, there was a plastic slide that was on the edge of the fall zone. Regulations state that the fall zone needs to extend 6ft in every direction from the slide. Corrective action: The slide has been moved to have 6ft of clearance on all sides.. Regulation: Outdoor Space. The licensee must maintain, or have access to, an outdoor play area of at least 75 square feet per child who is outside at any one time., Indoor Space. The indoor space must be clean, safely maintained, well-ventilated and well-lit, of sufficient size for the children served, and must encourage play and learning. Cited during: Monitoring Visit. Licensor randomly reviewed 3 of the children's records and observed the following: ** ONE ** - out of date signatures and out of date physical ** TWO ** - out of date physical and immunizations ** THREE ** - out of date lead testing. Please review all of the children's records and ensure they are all complete and up to date. Corrective action: 1) Out of date signatures & physical paperwork has been distributed to parents/doctors. 7.11(05)(d), 7.11(05)(e) — Health and Safety

All of the required items were observed in the first aid kit. However, one of the children’s emergency contact forms was out of date. Corrective action: The child emergency form is up to date. The water temperature was 130F degrees. Regulations state this temperature must be under 120F degrees. Corrective action: Water temperature has been adjusted to no more than 120F Degrees. 7.07(15)(e) — Physical Facility - Outdoors

Educator installed a fall zone for 2 plastic slides that are over 18 inches. One slide is only 3 feet from the edge of the fall zone and needs to be moved. Corrective action: The slide has been moved to the center of the fall zone. Regulation: Playground Safety. All playground equipment installed after the effective date of these regulations and all playground equipment in homes first licensed after the effective date of these regulations must be located within use zones that are covered with an adequate depth of an impact-absorbing material, in accordance with EEC policy.
