   Educator was over her licensed capacity when she had 11 children in care. Educator reported that this has happened on a few occasions. Corrective action: A correction/completion plan was implemented immediately. The educator acknowledges awareness of the licensed capacity limit of 10 children and understands the importance of maintaining compliance with EEC ratio and capacity regulations at all times. The one instance of being over capacity occurred due to a transportation delay affecting one child’s drop-off at their designated daycare. The situation was taken care of immediately and alternative transportation was contacted. The educator recognizes the seriousness of this issue and is committed to ensuring it does not happen again. A new plan has been established so that the child will now be dropped off at his daycare at 7 am as discussed with his Provider, preventing any future capacity violations..    Schedule was posted but not being followed. There was no evidence of a routine, structure or curriculum. Corrective action: The educator has an established curriculum that has been in use since January 2025, called Melius Curriculum. Prior to this, the program utilized Carol’s Curriculum. The program follows its posted daily schedule; however, adjustments are occasionally made when visitors such as licensors, coordinators, or food program representatives arrive. During these times, children are provided with temporary alternative activities, such as free play, to maintain engagement and minimize disruption. The educator will continue to actively implement the Melius Curriculum and ensure that the daily schedule and planned activities are consistently followed. A plan has been put in place to provide structured, developmentally appropriate activities during any schedule changes. This plan will also help prevent children from becoming upset or anxious when visitors, whom they may view as strangers, enter the program.    Educator reported that the children sometimes use a slide indoors and outdoors. The slide is higher than 18 inches and doesn't have the required fall zones. There were no materials outside for the children to play. Educator reported that she brings them outside but they are kept in a room inside the home. Corrective action: A correction/completion plan was implemented on the same day of the visit. The slide that exceeded 18 inches and did not meet EEC fall zone requirements was removed from use, and children will no longer play with that equipment.New, age-appropriate equipment that ensures both fun and safety has been ordered in accordance with EEC safety standards. The licensor’s recommendations were taken into full consideration. A storage container was also purchased to properly store all outdoor toys and materials when not in use. This will prevent the need to bring all materials back inside on a daily basis and will help maintain an organized and accessible outdoor play area.Most of the new outdoor equipment was delivered on October 21, 2025, with the remaining items expected to arrive on October 22, 2025.     Educator was in one area of the room while the assistant was not in the room and 2 children were hitting another child but the educator did not see it. Music was played loudly limiting the ability to hear the children. Educator placed young toddlers in secured seats for circle time. Corrective action: A correction/completion plan was implemented immediately. To address and prevent this type of play in the future, the educator has implemented a “Hands Are Not for Hurting” campaign. Through this initiative, children will participate in activities and discussions promoting safe, gentle, and respectful play. The educator will also reinforce positive social behaviors and maintain close supervision at all times. The classroom speaker has been removed, and the educator will ensure that music volume remains at an appropriate level to allow clear auditory supervision and communication. Additionally, toddlers will no longer be placed in secured seats during circle time. They will be allowed free play if they choose not to participate..
