Three of the six staff files reviewed had no evidence of physicals, 2 MMRs, and staff orientation. Two driver files were reviewed one had evidence of an expired 7D license. Corrective action: I have since had the director go through all the files and speak to the new hires to bring in their physicals and proof of MMRs. The drivers file had been updated with the currant drivers license.. During the visit the licensor observed thirty school aged children and two educators in a group. The child/staff ratio is 13/1. Corrective action: We had a staff member who was running late and the director was looking after 5 other children in an a different area. I explained to her that all the children should have been in the same room and she should have be in ratio.. Regulation: daily attendance records indicating each childs attendance, including arrival and departure times;, The licensee must maintain sufficient numbers of qualified staff to promote the health, safety, growth and development of each child. During the visit there was lack of supervision for a group of five children in tv room without an educator. The children were watching videos requiring educator guidance. Corrective action: The director was with the children in the adjacent room while also manning the phone and door. Once again, we spoke about combining groups and she going into ration.. Regulation: Educators must be positioned to maximize their ability to see and/or hear children in their care., Educators must not engage in any other activities or tasks that could unnecessarily divert their attention from supervising the children.
