There are construction materials, trash, a snow blower and a motorcycle within the reach of the children. The street is a cut through street and the yard needs to be fenced in. 7.07(01) — Physical Space (Indoor & Outdoor)

The back door in the kitchen was blocked with trash bags on the outside. One of the assistant's reported that the landlord was supposed to pick up the trash bags that morning. The bags were moved from the door to make the exit accessible. The educator spoke over the phone with the EEC licensor, they confirmed the information provided by the assistant. The educator will ensure that the exits are always clear from clutter and accessible. 7.07(10)(o) — Physical Facility - Indoors

A cable in the living room needs to be made inaccessible to children. The educator will ensure to maintain all cords and outlets inaccessible to the childcare children at all times. Corrective action: we covered the exposed cable with learning shapes.. Regulation: Electrical outlets. All electrical outlets within the reach of children younger than school age must be made inaccessible by use of a safety device or covering that prevents access to the receptacle openings. If the covering is a shock stop, it must be of adequate size to prevent a choking hazard. All electrical cords must be arranged so they are not a hazard to children. The front doors steps have broken plaster that needs to be corrected and made inaccessible to children. Corrective action: we spoked to the landlord and he started to work on it today so he can be finished by tomorrow.. Regulation: Chipping and Peeling Paint. The stairs at the front door need to have a permanent gate placed at the top of the stairs. The stairs at the back side of the building that lead to the basement need to have a permanent gate placed at the top of the stairs. A set of sliding closet doors made of glass mirrors needs to be made inaccessible to the childcare children. The educator will ensure that the children are not exposed to any hazardous materials. The smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested during the visit. Corrective action: we covered the closet doors with big hard foam.. Regulation: Indoor Space. The indoor space must be clean, safely maintained, well-ventilated and well-lit, of sufficient size for the children served, and must encourage play and learning. During the visit, the refrigerator did not have a thermometer. The educator will ensure to maintain a thermometer in the refrigerator and keep the temperature between 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit. Corrective action: we already put a thermometer.. Regulation: The licensee must provide refrigeration and storage for food at not less than 32? F, nor more than 40? F for all food requiring refrigeration. Meals and snacks provided by parents must be stored safely. Thermometers verifying temperatures must be maintained in all refrigerators. The assistant was outside when licensor arrived leaving one educator alone with ten children. There was a bucket of water by the back door. The hot water was 150 degrees.
