On the day of the visit EEC Licensor learned that some educators had not completed the EEC Essential Trainings 2.0 as required by EEC Policy. 7.07(01), 7.11(07)(h) — Emergency Preparedness

Review of the program’s evacuation drill log revealed there were no drills documented in October or December of 2024. Corrective action: The area manager has gone over all licensing requirements and has made sure the educators are now documenting monthly drills.. Regulation: The licensee must ensure that the physical facilities are safe, clean, in good repair and free from hazards and clutter. The licensee must monitor the environment daily to identify and remove or repair any hazards that may cause injury to children. Exits and evacuation routes must be kept clear of obstructions., The educator must hold practice evacuation drills with all groups of children and all educators from each floor level of the approved space at least monthly. Drills must be held during different times of the program day, and must use alternative exits. 7.11(03) — Health

IHCP form for a child with a chronic medical condition did not include the potential side effects of the medications, the names of Educators trained in the medical condition, the name of the medications or the dosages. Corrective action: The IHCP form now includes the potential side effects of the medication, names of the educators, name of the medications and dosages.. Regulation: Individual Health Care Plans The licensee must maintain as part of a child’s record, an individual health care plan for each child with a chronic medical condition, which has been diagnosed by a licensed health care practitioner. The plan must describe the chronic condition, its symptoms, any medical treatment that may be necessary while the child is in care, the potential side effects of that treatment, and the potential consequences to the child’s health if the treatment is not administered. On the day of the visit children were observed using hand sanitizing gel in place of proper hand washing with soap and water using friction. Corrective action: The Area manager has gone over the correct procedures and children are now washing their hands with soap and water.. The program did not have a posted staff schedule that includes the qualifications of Educator along with the expiration of first aid/CPR certification. Corrective action: The staff schedule was a component of the licensing training all SC's had on 10/22/24. Staff schedule is posted along with the expiration of first aid/CPR certification.. The program did not have a copy of the current Building Inspection certificate the day of the visit. The program has one newly hired Educator who is working and has not completed the EEC Essential Trainings 2.0. The program did not have evidence of staff meeting for the summer months. Corrective action: The educator has now completed the EEC Essential Training 2.0. Any new hires are now completing this before working in program. Staff is completing a 2-hour monthly staff meeting and logging it in the binder. All SC's have been trained to log in everything in the staff meeting log.. Regulation: Staff Meetings.
