The educator reports that there is a firearm in the home and she has only provided verbal notification to the parents. Please give all parents written notification of the firearm in the home. The two exits used are the front door and the side door through the kitchen. Please add an anchored gate at the top of the stairs that lead to the emergency exit as it goes by the basement stairway. Corrective action: Gate was added to Basement Stairway. Regulation: The licensee must ensure that the physical facilities are safe, clean, in good repair and free from hazards and clutter. The licensee must monitor the environment daily to identify and remove or repair any hazards that may cause injury to children.
