Child with [redacted] did not have an IHCP on file to help educators provide care in the event of an exposure. Corrective action: We are working with parent to get IHCP and once we get IHCP we will add it to the child's file. The child was already added to the allergy list.. Regulation: Individual Health Care Plans The licensee must maintain as part of a childs record, an individual health care plan for each child with a chronic medical condition, which has been diagnosed by a licensed health care practitioner. The plan must describe the chronic condition, its symptoms, any medical treatment that may be necessary while the child is in care, the potential side effects of that treatment, and the potential consequences to the childs health if the treatment is not administered. On the day of the visit the program had not documented the arrival times for up to 20 children that were present. Corrective action: I spoke with the Director for the Afterschool Program and stated that attendance must be done when children arrive, not to wait until they have all arrived at the facility. On the day of the visit the program’s Building Inspection certificate had an expiration date of 3/4/25. The Fire Inspection had an expiration date of 7/16/23. Corrective action: I have called the Building Department and scheduled an inspection for next week. Also contacted the Fire Department and requested their visit be at the same time. During the visit children were observed using hand sanitizing gel in place of proper handwashing. Corrective action: Instructions were given to all staff stating that the children must wash their hands before given snack and not to use hand sanitizer for this purpose.
