   7.11(02)(c), 7.11(02)(e) — Health

   At the time of the visit there was an inhaler without the box or the prescription label. Corrective action: At the time it was given to us, I explained to the parent that we were unable to administer the inhaler without the box containing the prescription label. [redacted] provided a doctor note which outlined exactly what the prescription label would've contained. I made the mistake of accepting this form; however, the child never needed the medication. And when I explained that we were sited for the medication not being in the prescription labeled package, [redacted] simply took it home and said, "He doesn't need it - I forgot it was even here".. Regulation: All prescription medications must be in the containers in which they were originally dispensed and with their original labels affixed. Over-the-counter medications must be in the original manufacturer’s packaging., Unless otherwise specified in a child’s individual health care plan, the educator must store all medications out of the reach of children and under proper conditions for sanitation, preservation, security and safety during the time the children are in care and during the transportation of children.
