7.10(05)(a), 7.11(13)(e) — Routine & Activities
Licensor observed infant, 8 months old napping in playpen/porta crib on her back. Toys were inside the porta a crib, tag blanky on top of infant and no mattress or pad inside. Infant was on a loose blanket (not a fitted sheet) Educator stated that the infant was only in there for play time but fell asleep while other children were having snack time. Educator said the infant usually sleeps in a different pack n play with fitted sheet. Licensor suggested that if the baby were to fall asleep playing, that she can move the sleeping infant in the correct pack n play with fitted sheet to continue napping. Corrective action: The loose blanket was removed and i ordered a mat for playyard. The infant will only use play yard for play and will be napped in her designated pack and play with proper mattress, no toys or blankets. If child were to fall asleep while playing she would be moved immediately to her pack and play. I have asked mom for a sleepsack for cooler mornings.. Regulation: Children younger than six months of age at the time of enrollment must be under direct visual supervision at all times, including while napping, during the first six weeks they are in care., Programs serving infants must: Cited during: Monitoring Visit.
