7.07(13)(d), 7.07(01), 7.07(02), 7.07(10) — Physical Facility - Indoors

In the lower-level classroom, a large rug was observed to be folded. Additionally, a section of the floor baseboard cover was coming off. The floor appeared to be in need of cleaning. Corrective action: The rug will be removed and thrown away. The baseboard will be reattached / replaced. Floors will have an added coat of wax finish to make them appear less worn and dirty.. Regulation: All play equipment, fences and structures must be free of entrapment hazards., The licensee must ensure that the physical facilities are safe, clean, in good repair and free from hazards and clutter. The licensee must monitor the environment daily to identify and remove or repair any hazards that may cause injury to children. Exits and evacuation routes must be kept clear of obstructions., Building Inspection. Every program that is not located in a residence and every program that has a licensed capacity of more than 10 children must provide a certificate of inspection from the Department of Public Safety or the local building inspector certifying that the facility complies with the State Building Code (780 CMR). The certificate must indicate the following:, Indoor Space. 7.07(13) — Curriculum and Activities

There are cables and a long extension cord accessible to children in one of the downstairs classrooms. Corrective action: The cables have been properly secured and are out of reach of the children.. Regulation: Safety Requirements for Equipment, Materials and Furnishings. The licensee must only use indoor and outdoor equipment, materials, furnishings, toys, and games that are appropriate to the ages, needs and developmental level of the children enrolled. They must be sturdy, safely constructed and installed, non-tippable, flame retardant, easily cleaned, and free from lead paint, protruding nails, rust, and other hazards that may be dangerous to children. Some of the classrooms did not have evacuation procedures and diagrams of escape routes posted. Please post near each exit. Corrective action: Each classroom now has an evacuation plan posted at each/every exit in the classrooms.. Regulation: next to each exit, emergency and evacuation procedures., Exit signs must be posted in rooms that have direct access to the outdoors., Escape Routes. 7.11(02)(e), 7.11(02)(c) — Health

A child's medication is expired. The IHCP and medication consent are expired. Corrective action: The Medication form IHCP plan date is November 5, 2024, It is currently being updated by the Pediatrician. The medication has been ordered and the parent will bring it in when ready at pharmacy.. Regulation: Unless otherwise specified in a child’s individual health care plan, the educator must store all medications out of the reach of children and under proper conditions for sanitation, preservation, security and safety during the time the children are in care and during the transportation of children., All prescription medications must be in the containers in which they were originally dispensed and with their original labels affixed.
