Substantiated incident: Health and Safety Concerns (Health and Safety)

There were concerns staff were regularly smoking in outdoor areas where children are playing and are not washing their hands when resuming child care responsibilities. The health department performed an investigation and substantiated due to two employees who regularly smoke in outdoor areas during operating hours. Resolution: Health department informed provider that employees cannot be smoking near the kids, need to move further away from facility, and should wash their hands prior to resuming child care responsibilities.
