4.1, Handbook: Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must successfully complete the departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the child care industry in any licensed Florida child care facility. The facility did not have documentation of child care personnel's completion of required training on the training transcript in that [see below]. Comments: At the time of inspection, licensing monitor observed [1] personnel with incomplete training requirements based upon review of the DCF training transcript. As a result of an amendment to Senate Bill 738, all courses to meet the 40-hour introductory training requirement, transportation safety, and safe sleep are free to complete on the DCF training portal. Online exams are not available at this time and shall still be completed in-person until further notice. *Note, this does not replace 'Cribs for Kids' safe sleep training as required by Broward County. Sec. 7-22, Ordinance: Each child care facility, substantial compliance facility, and family child care home must maintain at all times a comprehensive general liability policy with a combined single limit for bodily injury and property damage as follows: at least $500,000 for child care facilities and substantial compliance facilities. The child care arrangement must provide the local licensing agency with a certificate of insurance evidencing the required coverage at the time of licensure or registration, as applicable, upon renewal, and upon request of the local licensing agency. The child care arrangement or insurer must provide the local licensing agency at least 30 days notice before the expiration or cancellation of the policy. The facility did not have evidence of the required coverage. Comments: At the time of inspection, licensing monitor did not observe current proof of adequate insurance coverage amounts.
