    10. General Facility Requirements Group: Sec. 7-35, Ordinance and DCF Handbook (10-12)

3.1(G), Handbook: Cleaning must not take place while rooms are occupied by children except for general clean-up activities that are part of the daily routine. General cleaning refers to cleaning necessary to maintain a sanitary environment but that does not pose a hazard to children, such as wiping the table after lunch, soaking toys in a tub on the countertop, or sweeping. This does not include cleaning with hazardous materials or any cleaning which poses a risk of slipping or falling. Cleaning (other than general clean-up activities) of a room took place while children were present in the room. Comments: At the time of inspection, a teacher in the 4yr old room was observed using a general, all purpose or bathroom cleaner in the classroom bathroom while children were present. Provider resolved by refraining from cleaning. Other cleaning agents were observed in other classrooms (Lysol wipes, Lysol spray) but were not being utilized while children are present. There was an absence of bleach and water solutions. Technical assistance was provided that cleaning with hazardous materials and toxins should be completed when children are not present. 19. Napping Space Group: DCF Handbook (19-06)

3.6.1(A) and (C-E), Handbook: Each child in care must be provided safe and sanitary bedding to be used when napping or sleeping. Sleep bedding includes beds, cribs, or mattresses. Nap bedding includes sleep bedding, cots, playpens, play yards or floor mats. Air and foam mattresses are prohibited. Floor mats must be at least one-inch thick and covered with an impermeable surface. Bedding must be appropriate for the child's size. Appropriate bedding is not available for all children. Comments: At the time of inspection, licensing monitor observed floor mats in classrooms of the Bianchi building that are utilized for napping were only 1/2 inch thick.
