The written record of fire drills was missing the following: [ evacuation route used, time taken to evacuate the home, date & time of the drill]. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7.21, D Comments: During the inspection, the Operator had documentation of the last fire drill being conducted/documented on 01/12/2026, with 1 adult and 6 children present. During the inspection, a fire drill was conducted in the presence of the Licensing Specialist. There were 1 adult and 4 children present *****Reminder to the provider to complete and document one lockdown drill and one inclement weather drill prior to the expiration of their current licensing year. ********The Licensing Specialist observed the fire drill log for year 2025 and found the following information was missing from the log:- evacuation route used;- time taken to evacuated the home;- time of the fire drills;- no fire drill has been conducted during the napping time;- no lock down drill has been conducted;-no inclement weather drill has been conducted; During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided TA per FDCH Handbook:7.21 Fire Drills D. A current attendance record and parent/guardian contact information must accompany child care personnel out of the home during a drill or actual evacuation, and be used to account for all children. The operator must maintain a written record of the fire drills showing the date, number of children and child care personnel in attendance, evacuation route used, and time taken for all individuals to evacuate the premises. Each fire drill record must be maintained for a minimum of 12 months from the date of the fire drill. The fire drills conducted must include, at a minimum: 1. One fire drill during the established napping/sleeping times, 2. One fire drill using an alternate evacuation route, and 3. One fire drill in the presence and at the request of the licensing authority in coordination with the operator or designee.7.22 Emergency Preparedness A. The operator shall develop a written emergency preparedness plan to include, at a minimum, procedures to be taken by the family day care home during a fire, evacuation, relocation, shelter in place, lockdown, and inclement weather (tornadoes). The plan must describe how the home will notify and update parents/guardians. Daily attendance rosters must be used to account for all children once gathered in a safe space after exit and upon return to the home. B. Emergency preparedness drills shall be conducted when children are in care.
