Toxic Substances and/or Hazardous materials including cleaning supplies, flammable products, and poisonous items were accessible to children in care. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7.2 Comments: During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed the following items were accessible to the children that are in care in childrens restroom: - two Ban unscented invisible roll-on - two daily nourishing body lotions - two scented hand lotions - one hydrogen peroxide topical solution - one toothpaste - two hair styling tools with long cords and a pack of body lotion and spay inside the unlocked bottom cabinet drawers During the inspection, the Operator was busying with taking care of children and didnt get a chance to remove the above mentioned items. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided Technical Assistance (TA) per FDCH Handbook: 7.2 Toxic Substances, Hazardous Materials and Poisonous Items A. All areas and surfaces accessible to children shall be free from toxic substances and hazardous materials/equipment/tools, including power tools, plastic bags, matches, candles, lighters, etc. These items, as well as knives, sharp tools, BB guns, pellet guns and other potentially dangerous hazards, shall either be stored and in a locked area or must be inaccessible and out of a childs reach. 13. Indoor Play Areas FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7.5 (13-02)

Indoor play areas were not in good repair. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7.5, B Comments: During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that two areas of the wall near the exit door leading to the outdoor play area were not in good repair. In addition, a section of the soffit cover on the house, visible from the outdoor play area, was missing. During the inspection, the Operator informed the Licensing Specialist that the home is currently undergoing remodeling. The Operator stated that the work is nearly complete and is expected to be finished within one week. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided TA per FDCH Handbook: 7.5 Indoor Play Areas B. The written record of fire drills was missing the following: [ date & time of the drill]. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7.21, D Comments: During the inspection, the Operator had documentation of the last fire drill being conducted/documented on 01/26/2026, with 1 adult and 5 children present. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that the fire drill records for February and March were missing. The Operator explained that the drills were not conducted during those months, even though they were required to be completed. During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed that no emergency preparedness drills had been completed within the past 12 months. During the inspection, a fire drill was conducted in the presence of the Licensing Specialist. There were 1 adult and 5 children present *****Reminder to the provider to complete and document one lockdown drill and one inclement weather drill prior to the expiration of their current licensing year. ******** During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided TA per FDCH Handbook: 7.21 Fire Drills A. During the homes licensure year, fire drills utilizing the smoke detector(s) must be conducted monthly at various dates and times when children are in care. D. A current attendance record and parent/guardian contact information must accompany child care personnel out of the home during a drill or actual evacuation, and be used to account for all children. The operator must maintain a written record of the fire drills showing the date, number of children and child care personnel in attendance, evacuation route used, and time taken for all individuals to evacuate the premises. Each fire drill record must be maintained for a minimum of 12 months from the date of the fire drill. The fire drills conducted must include, at a minimum: 1. One fire drill during the established napping/sleeping times, 2. One fire drill using an alternate evacuation route, and 3. One fire drill in the presence and at the request of the licensing authority in coordination with the operator or designee. 7.22 Emergency Preparedness B. Emergency preparedness drills shall be conducted when children are in care. During the time of the inspection, this was resolved by the Operator moving the items to an area out of reach of children. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, per the FDCH Handbook: A. All areas and surfaces accessible to children shall be free from toxic substances and hazardous materials/equipment/tools, including power tools, plastic bags, matches, candles, lighters, etc. These items, as well as knives, sharp tools, BB guns, pellet guns and other potentially dangerous hazards, shall either be stored and in a locked area or must be inaccessible and out of a childs reach. B. All potentially harmful items including cleaning supplies, flammable products, poisonous, toxic, and hazardous materials must be labeled and used according to manufacturers recommendation. C. Narcotics, alcohol, or other impairing drugs/paraphernalia must be kept inaccessible to children at all times. D. Cleaning must not take place while rooms are occupied by children except for general clean-up activities that are part of the daily routine. General cleaning refers to cleaning necessary to maintain a sanitary environment but that does not pose a hazard to children, such as wiping the table after lunch, soaking toys in a tub on the countertop, sweeping. Floor mats available for children in care were not covered with an impermeable surface. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7.8, F Comments: During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed napping mats had rips and tears and had duct tape holding them together. During the time of the inspection this was resolved by the Operator removing the napping mats from the daycare area. During the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance, per the FDCH Handbook: F. Sleep bedding includes beds, cribs, or mattresses. Nap bedding includes sleep bedding, cots, playpens, play yards or floor mats. Air and foam mattresses are prohibited.
