FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 4.1, L Staffing Requirements [SR] Comments: During review of clearinghouse LS noticed that Family members were missing from the clearinghouse rooster. Per Handbook The employer/owner/operator must add substitutes, employees and household members to their Employee/Contractor Roster within ten days of when the individual has received a childcare eligible result. Employer/owner/operator must add an end date within ten days of termination for individuals on the Employee/Contractor Roster in the Clearinghouse when employment terminates, or a household member is no longer residing in the home. An unscreened individual was left alone with children in care. s.435.06(2)(a), F.S. and FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 4.2, C (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Staffing Requirements [SR] Comments: FSC observed an unscreened individual with the children, unsupervised. The owner stepped out to the post office for about 10 to 15 minutes and the unscreened individual was left in the home with the children watching them. At the time of arrival, the owner was not home, when the owner arrived opened the door and noticed the children in the backyard playing supervised by the unscreened individual. Provider came into compliance by removing the unscreened individual from the school. Please take a look at the supplemental. TA an operator, substitute, employee, volunteer, and all household members must be re-screened as outlined in sections 402.313 and 402.3131, F.S, following a break in operation or employment in the child care industry or from residing in the home, that exceeds 90 days. Childcare personnel or individuals with a break in service that exceeds 90 days are considered unscreened childcare personnel or individuals until completion of rescreening. Toxic Substances and/or Hazardous materials including cleaning supplies, flammable products, and poisonous items were accessible to children in care. FDCH/LFCCH Handbook, Section 7.2 (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Health Requirements [SR] Comments: FSC observed cleaning supplies and other products were accessible to children in the bathroom. All areas and surfaces accessible to children shall be free from toxic substances and hazardous materials/equipment/tools, including power tools, plastic bags, matches, candles, lighters, etc. These items, as well as knives, sharp tools, BB guns, pellet guns and other potentially dangerous hazards, shall either be stored and in a locked area or must be inaccessible and out of a childs reach. B. All potentially harmful items including cleaning supplies, flammable products, poisonous, toxic, and hazardous materials must be labeled and used according to manufacturers recommendation. C. Narcotics, alcohol, or other impairing drugs/paraphernalia must be kept inaccessible to children at all times. D. Cleaning must not take place while rooms are occupied by children except for general clean-up activities that are part of the daily routine. General cleaning refers to cleaning necessary to maintain a sanitary environment but that does not pose a hazard to children, such as wiping the table after lunch, soaking toys in a tub on the countertop, sweeping. This does not include cleaning with hazardous materials or any cleaning which poses a risk of slipping or falling. 11.
