The facility did not have documented proof of an annual fire inspection by the local fire authority. CCF Handbook, Section 3.8.2, A (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Physical Environment [SR] Comments: During the inspection the facility did not have documentation of having an approved fire inspection completed, staff responsible was not able to contact the school administrator as the public school was closed. The provider stated that an inspection was conducted on 1/21/25 but the satisfactory report was not received yet. CCF Handbook, Section 3.8 Fire Drills & Emergency Preparedness:3.8.2 Fire Safety. Unless statutorily exempted, all school-age childcare programs must conform to state standards adopted by the State Fire Marshal, Chapter 69A-36, F.A.C., Uniform Fire Safety Standards for Nonresidential Child Care Facilities, and must be inspected annually. A copy of the current and approved annual fire inspection report by a certified fire inspector must be on file with the licensing authority. If the program is granted a fire inspection exemption by the local fire inspection office, the exemption must be documented and maintained on file at the program. Documentation of Level 2 Clearinghouse screening clearance was missing for child care personnel. CCF Handbook, Section 7.4.1,C (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Record Keeping [SR] Comments: During the inspection the facility did not have copy of a Level 2 Clearinghouse screening clearance for the employee that was hired on 05/28/2024. The facility was not able to provide a copy, all copies and results are kept by an individual through Hillsborough County schools, The individual was off the clock and was off during the next day. Upon checking the BGS result Licensing Specialist observed that the result for the above-mentioned employee was showing (A New Screening Required). The employee observed working with other employees and was not alone with the children. The employee was sent home immediately. Above mentioned employee cannot work at the program until rescreened and clear for DCF Child Care requirement. The result must be sent to Childcare licensing by given due date. CCF Handbook, Section 7.4.1,C Background Screening Documents Background screening documentation must be maintained for all child care personnel as defined by Section 402.302(3), F.S., which includes household members if the facility is located in or adjacent to the home of the operator. Background screening documentation must be on-site and available for the licensing authority to review. C. A copy of the eligible results, for the Level 2 screening, generated from the Clearinghouse must be on record for each personnel. If awaiting Out-of-State criminal history results, a copy of the DCF email informing of the individuals eligibility for a provisional hire status must be in the personnel file. AND School Readiness Program Health and Safety Standards Handbook 19.5 Background Screening 1. Level 2 background screening, as defined in section 435.04, F.S. is required for all personnel employed by a provider participating in the School Readiness Program pursuant to s. 1002.88(1)(e), F.S., and volunteers as defined in this handbook, and includes a national and statewide criminal records search.
