The attendance roster did not accompany the group of children in that [the roster was not correct as it included all the children present for the day not the children currently occuping the space. ].CCF Handbook, Section 7.5, A Record Keeping [SR] Comments: During the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed, the roster for 6 groups of children (Red 1, 3, &4) were not correct. The classes had split with half the children on the playground and half the children in the classroom. The electronic rosters on the tablets the teachers had showed the entire group not just the children who were occupying the classroom or the playground. The licensing specialist explained this requirement with the director. The director created paper rosters for the groups to use when they split the classes apart and provided them to the classes. The Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance from the handbook 7.5. A. Attendance devices used for the purposes of tracking attendance may be used, but personnel must ensure the accuracy of the documented attendance. Each classroom must have an attendance sheet/class roster for the group of children occupying that space. Attendance sheet/class roster must accompany the child care personnel and the group of children throughout the day should they leave the classroom. Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month did not complete the 40 hour Introductory Child Care Training requirement. CCF Handbook Section 4.2.1 (Section 2.1 Health and Safety, Page 3) Comments: At the time of the inspection, the Licensing Specialist observed one staff record did not have documentation of completing the 40 hour Introductory Training requirement. The Licensing Specialist provided technical assistance from the handbook Section 4.1 Beginning Training Child care personnel including volunteers who work 10 hours or more per month must begin training within 90 days of employment in the child care industry and successfully complete departments training within 12 months from the date training begins. Training taken prior to employment in the child care industry does not constitute begin training. The begin training timeframes begin at the time of employment in the child care industry. Training completion may not exceed 15 months from the date of employment in the child care industry in any licensed Florida child care facility. This may be accomplished by classroom attendance in a Department-approved training course, acquiring an educational exemption from a Department-approved training course, beginning a Department-approved online child care training course, or by receiving results from a Department-approved competency examination. The child care program is responsible for obtaining training documentation from child care personnel. 4.2.1 Mandated Introductory Training Child care personnel must successfully complete 40 hours of child care training as evidenced by successful completion of competency examinations offered by the Department or its designated representative with a weighted score of 70 or better. Child care personnel who successfully completed the mandatory 40-hour Introductory Child Care Training prior to January 1, 2004 are not required to fulfill the competency examination requirement. A.
