Comments: During the facility inspection, the diaper changing pad in the 2-year-old diaper change area was observed to have a slit/tear on its surface, which compromises the integrity of the changing surface and prevents adequate cleaning and sanitizing between diaper changes. Technical assistance was provided to facility staff regarding the importance of maintaining diaper changing equipment in good repair for proper sanitation protocols. These deteriorating conditions create potential safety hazards including paint chip and tile fragment ingestion risks, lead exposure concerns if older paint is present, and compromise the integrity of classroom and facility surfaces.
