Hot running water was not available in the [diaper changing sink for Tweety Bird and Infant classroom ] hand washing area. (Section 17.1, number 1) (Section 12.3, number 1) General Requirements [SR] Comments: During the inspection, observed the sinks in the infant classroom and Tweety Bird toddler class did not have hot running water for staff to use in the diaper changing sinks. Technical assistance was provided that water temperature for diaper changing sinks must include hot water, from 100 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Water temperature is not to exceed 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperature read 80 degrees Fahrenheit in Tweety Bird sink. During the inspection, staff and director had maintenance repair the sinks to provide hot water, resolving the non-compliance at the time of the inspection. Compliance Comments Technical assistance was provided to the director and staff for the Tweety Bird toddler classroom to utilize the diaper changing mat while changing the children, rather than the original liner and granite counter that was observed. Staff promptly returned the plastic lined diaper changing mat to the diaper changing station, under the recommendation of the inspector. 11. Comments: At the time of the inspection, DCF 40-hour training was not completed timely for staff member F.M. Technical assistance was provided that F.M. must have their 40-hour DCF training complete as soon as possible, as regulations state staff have 12-15 months to complete their DCF training at the time of initiating the training coursework. According to F.M.'s transcript, she begun training on 12/26/2023. The facility is actively working on bringing this standard into compliance, as the inspector, director, and staff have communicated.
